ICMAP backs AGP

plea for

judicial powers

KARACHI: The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) has supported the views of the Auditor General of Pakistan that the AGP office should have effective judicial powers and must be independent of the Executive.

ICMAP President, M H Asif, said in a statement that the AGP Office should be vested with powers to obtain external evidence, engage experts for this purpose and impose sanctions and to ensure timely consideration of reports of accounts of the federal government.

He reaffirmed that ICMAP would always be at the beck and call of the AGP office to provide technical and professional assistance to AGP in eliminating, in efficiency and corruption.
