IJT urges CE to raise annual grant of PU

LAHORE: Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) drawing the attention of the Chief Executive, General Pervez Musharraf towards problems being faced by the students of the Punjab University, has asked him to increase the annual grant of the University for keeping the fees at affordable level and promoting research activities.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Chief Organiser of the IJT Punjab University, Asad Ali along with other office-bearers revealed that around 10,000 letters had been dispatched to the Chief Executive by the students of the university highlighting their problems. He stated that now when the Chief Executive, General Pervez Musharraf, is expected to be the Chief Guest at the convocation of the university on April 06, he should announce solution of these problems.

The IJT leaders also demanded expansion in the PU library by providing audio-video facilities, decentralisation of the examination wing of the university, improvement in the hostel facilities both for male and female students, filling of vacant posts of teachers, improvement in laboratories and transport system.
