Ehtesab court to indict Khalid on 10th
RECORDER REPORT
PESHAWAR: The NWFP Accountability Court No.2 will indict Khalid Aziz, former director-general of Ehtesab Bureau in dismissed government of Nawaz Sharif, on April 10 on corruption charges.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed references against Khalid Aziz, also former NWFP chief secretary. The detained bureaucrat has been charged with "making huge money" through what is said to be "illegal" means.
The bureaucrat was produced before the court of judge Ataullah Khan. Later, he was shifted to Central Jail, Peshawar.
Khurshid Khan, counsel for Khalid Aziz, in a written statement prayed the judge to grant "A" class facilities to his client. However, the court fixed April 10 to take up the application.
The former Ehtesab Bureau director-general was shifted to civil lines police station from Adiyala Jail on Sunday night.
The former chief of Peshawar Development Authority, Zahir Shah, meanwhile, was also produced before judge Syed Maroof Khan on the expiry of his judicial remand on Monday.
