Memon community's pole in country's uplift praised

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Food and Cooperative Iftikhar Soomro has highly eulogised the services of Memon community for the development of the country.

He was addressing a gathering organised by All Pakistan Memon Federation for awarding Gold Medal to 'Pardasi Group' for their outstanding performance in importing gold, said a news release here on Sunday.

The provincial minister said that the government is attaching priority to three sectors, agriculture, information technology and exploration of oil and gas.

He said the Memon community can play an important role by sharing their responsibility in these fields.

Iftikhar Soomro urged the Memon community that they should invest in large number in Pakistan and added that institution like 'Pardasi Group' can play an important role in boosting the country's economy.

The minister invited the Memon community to invest in fishing, livestock, dairy farming, poultry and agriculture sectors.

He said if they invest in these sectors the government would help them in providing all facilities.

The minister said that every one of us should follow the example of nationhood pursued by the Memon community.

Haji Rafiq Pardasi, of Pardasi Group on the occasion announced that his institution is launching a number of projects in the country, these include inviting foreign investment, launching of first bank on Islamic system, and establishment of solar energy and power generation units.

He appealed to the people to inculcate among themselves the spirit of love with their country and work for its betterment. APP
