PANO AQIL: National Defence College Commandant Lieut. General Saeeduz Zafar has exhorted the gunners to hone their capabilities to face the challenges, emerging from the new scenario and to train their men in real battle like conditions.

He was addressing a ceremony, held to install Major General Ghulam Mustafa Commander Army Strategic Forces as Colonel of the Regiment at Pano Aqil Garrison.

Lt General Saeed-uz-Zafar, himself is the Colonel Commandant of the Artillery Regiment pinned the badges of rank along with Brig Hafeez Ahmed on the shoulders of Major General Ghulam Mustafa and congratulated him on assumption of his new responsibilities.

Appointing Colonel of the battalion or regiment is an old tradition in the Army. The Colonel of the Battalion usually senior in ranks, acts as a godfather and provide guidance to sublimate the unit to the utmost proficiency level and helps obviate difficulties if any in the process.

Major General Ghulam Mustafa thanked the officers and jawans of the unit for reposing confidence in him and expressed his resolve to come up to their expectations.

The function was attended by high ranking serving and retired military officers and jawans including Major General Fahim Akhtar, General Officer Commanding Pano Aqil Garrison.ÑAPP
