Govt urged to allow one-dish in wedding parties

FAISALABAD: Mian Zahid Sarfraz, former Federal Minister for Commerce was elected un-opposed as President of the Minerva Club, Faisalabad, Sunday.

Mian Maudood Akbar Advocate while Sheikh Javed and Khawaja Jalal Arif, were also elected un-opposed as Secretary, Secretary Finance and Secretary Sports of the Club, respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, Mian Zahid Safraz, demanded of the government to allow the Hotels and Clubs to serve one-dish in the wedding parties.

He termed the previous government's ban on serving meals during marriage parties as unwarranted.

He said although the present Army Government has withdrawn several unwarranted decisions of the previous government, the ban on serving the meals in marriage parties was still on. He urged Chief Executive Gen. Pervaiz Musharraf to immediately order the lifting of the ban and allow the serving of at least one-dish in the wedding parties.
