AES allocates
Rs 500m for welfare
plans in M'garh

MULTAN: A multi-national power supply company has allocated a sum of Rs 500 million for social welfare projects in Muzaffargarh district and these funds would be spent on healthcare, education, afforestation and communication.
Addressing a foundation stone laying ceremony of a diagnostic centre at DHQ Hospital, Muzaffargarh on Sunday Dale Slinker, Plant Manager of AES Power Company, Lalpir said that this Diagnostic Centre would be constructed with an expenditure of Rs 2 million within a period of seven months and would be completed under the supervision of an AES.
He said the people of this area would get the facilities of all laboratory tests ECG X-rays and ultra sound.
Dale said that the company has constructed a girls high school in Gujrat with an estimated cost of Rs 9 million in 1998 for 550 girls. A primary school for 300 children completed in June 99 at Mehmood Kot City with an expenditure of Rs 3.2 million.
Dale also said that the AES was constructing 10 home for 100 orphan children in SOS Village which would cost Rs 7 million while furniture, electric fans and free electricity was provided to a number of educational institutions in this area.
