FREIGHT SUBSIDY ON EXPORTS OF LEATHER GARMENTS

 Government has allowed 25% freight subsidy on exports of leather garments for the period 1st January to 31st December,.2005. The subsidy would be provided both against C & F and FOB exports. The claims of leather garment exporters would be scrutinized by the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PLGMEA), before these are filed through the Commercial Banks concerned,

Freight Subsidy will be disbursed to the exporters as per the existing freight subsidy rules notified in EPB public notice No. 2 (4)/2004-PPI dated

2004, except that, for leather garments, only paras 4 to 8 of the said public notice will be applicable. The condition in para 4 (b) about the exporter's rubber stamp "Under Freight Subsidy Claim" will be applicable to export made from the 5th March. 2005,

For the purpose of scrutiny by PLGMEA, exporters will send to PLGMEA only a

Summary of the Claim as per Annexure-lll of the EPB public notice aforementioned,

which is available on the EPB web site www.epb.gov.pk.. PLGMEA will endorse the

summary of the claim and retuned it to the exporters for full claim, with all the

the required documents, through their banks concerned.

I he claims of leather garments exporters would be scrutinized by the Pakistan leather garments manufacturers and exporters association before these are filed through commercial banks concerned.

Freight Subsidy will be disbursed to the exporters as per the existing freight subsidy rules notified in EPB public Notice. (I )'001 PPI dated 25th October 2001.except that, for leather garments, only paras 1 to 8 of the said pubic notice will be applicable. The condition in para I (b) about the exporters member stamp Under Freight Subsidy Claim" will be applicable lo exports made from the 5th March 2005.

for the purpose of scrutiny by PLGMEA ,A exporters will send to PLGMEA and a Summary of the claim as per Annexure III of the EPB public notice aforementioned. which is available on the EPB website. PLGMEA will endorse the summary of the Claim and return it the the exporters for filing their claim, with all the required documents, through their banks concerned.
